The course is divided in 3 main chapters: A,B,C. The division is directly related to the scale of approach. So every section deals with a specific aspect within the project:
A – The morphology of the town
B – The urban block
C – The building
At the ending of every part we will have a presentation and critical session.
We will start with an environmental analysis, working from 1:10.000 to 1:1.000.
A
1:10000-1:5000 in relation to Milano
1:200 in relation to the neighbourhood
1:1000 in relation to the close surrounding
This phase shall lead us to a first definition of the masterplan.
B
The second phase is to work out the masterplan of the block at the following scales:
Masterplan:
1:1000
1:500 volumetric model
1:500 relation between built up / open space facilities / housing
1:500 urban facilities / social housing / open space: preliminary design
At the second presentation we will close the discussion about the relationship between the parts of the block. The shape of open space and buildings will be defined, as well as a rough layout of the building typologies.
At the third section we will develop the interior block spaces and the buildings
C
1:200 housing typologies
1:200 public space inside the block
1:200 general. elevations/sections
1:100 one facility + one residential building
The whole development, included 3D perspectives exterior + interior, partial model, details, energetic simulation.
Our aim is to arrive to an overall definition of the whole block at scale 1:100, focusing several parts and aspects of the project in more detail, in corresponding to the project development stage preceding the executive phase.
Sections B and C will be worked out in groups.
